Kubuntu Lubunut Ubuntu 13.10 FFMPEG not found

Hi
The problem is :
Under Xubuntu 13.10 -> Serviio 1.3.1 ( and I think also the 1.4.1) works fine
Under Lubuntu, Ubuntu, Ubuntu Gnome and Kubuntu 13.10, Serviio (1.3.1 - 1.4 - 1.4.1) does not work at all, on many different computers...

The problem is :
DEBUG [ProcessExecutor] Starting /usr/bin/ffmpeg
2014-03-17 20:54:38,676 ERROR [MediaServer] FFMPEG not found. Serviio will not work properly.

Infact I have found my ffmpeg in this folder "/usr/bin" and I have modifyed my servio.sh JAVA_OPTS adding " -Dffmpeg.location=/usr/bin/ffmpeg" ( I have tryed also without results "-Dffmpeg.location=/usr/bin" )
Also If I omit -Dffmpeg the error is the same.
I have tryed also to add -Dffmpeg to servio-console.sh JAVA_OPTS...no results

Other effects of this error are :
* "Checking for new files" and "Checking for updates" in the serviio console still remain with a red dot.
* I can not press " Force refresh"
* My DLNA clients can connect to serviio but no media are present.

Can you please help me ?

If this can help you :

As answered many times, your FFmpeg is obsolete, you have to build a new version.

Re: Kubuntu Lubunut Ubuntu 13.10 FFMPEG not found

Sorry but I've updated to the ffmpeg 2.2, I have rebooted, but nothing is changed.

ffmpeg version 2.2.git Copyright (c) 2000-2014 the FFmpeg developers
built on Mar 18 2014 00:29:44 with gcc 4.8 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.8.1-10ubuntu9)
configuration: --prefix=/home/tonauser/ffmpeg_build --extra-cflags=-I/home/tonauser/ffmpeg_build/include --extra-ldflags=-L/home/tonauser/ffmpeg_build/lib --bindir=/home/tonauser/bin --extra-libs=-ldl --enable-gpl --enable-libass --enable-libfdk-aac --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libvpx --enable-libx264 --enable-nonfree --enable-x11grab
libavutil 52. 67.100 / 52. 67.100
libavcodec 55. 52.102 / 55. 52.102
libavformat 55. 34.101 / 55. 34.101
libavdevice 55. 11.100 / 55. 11.100
libavfilter 4. 3.100 / 4. 3.100
libswscale 2. 5.101 / 2. 5.101
libswresample 0. 18.100 / 0. 18.100
libpostproc 52. 3.100 / 52. 3.100
Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder
usage: ffmpeg [options] [[infile options] -i infile]... {[outfile options] outfile}...

I've set
"-Dffmpeg.location=/home/tonauser/bin/ffmpeg"

In the log there are no signs of " ERROR [MediaServer] FFMPEG not found. Serviio will not work properly." but those problems persist
* "Checking for new files" and "Checking for updates" in the serviio console still remain with a red dot.
* I can not press " Force refresh"
* My DLNA clients can connect to serviio but no media are present.

Re: Kubuntu Lubunut Ubuntu 13.10 FFMPEG not found

two issues:

1. User serviio running under does not have access to 'I/home/tonauser/ffmpeg_build/' - check Linux forum for permission or recompile ffmpeg using this link instead
  Code:
I/home/tonauser/ffmpeg_build/

2. Also, ffmpeg is not compiled with rtmp so rtmp stream will fail. How to Compile - http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=build_ffmpeg_linux
