Re: Bookmarking on Samsung C series

Cerberus, I thought it might be relevant since the way to select a file is the same (Select Video -> Browse to the right folder -> Select file -> Play). DNLA, USB and DVD-ROM all work like that, so I guess it must be somewhat related.

If anything, I think DNLA has LESS resources than DVD or USB, since with the latter I can use the fast-forward and rewind buttons, and with DNLA I can only use the arrows.

I don't have the player, but other said after you play the video, there is a blue button displayed for a few seconds that enables you to resume. Some also had to restart/unplug the TV/player for it to pick up this new Serviio feature (probably caches it)

Unplugging the TV and walking away for 20 minutes, then plugging it back in did not fix the issue. I also tried different methods of resuming the file, including resuming with powering off the TV and without.

Agreed but my point was we HAD it working but something broke, so we know it possible but not sure why it not constant.

FFWD and RWD dont work well on any DLNA device so far samsung seem to work the best with it < and > buttons.

sorry if i sounded blunt but if we add to many other things to the mix we may never get it working and that would be a real loss to us ppl using samsung products and to serviio as a whole..

Re: Bookmarking on Samsung C series

It's working just fine for DiVX files on my C650. I tested it on Family Guy just now, and it tells you to hit the blue D to resume - works flawlessly.

Re: Bookmarking on Samsung C series

is it possible that it only works with specific file types? (e.g. only those that you can use FFWD/REV for)

I have tried with .avi (divx),.mkv, and .mp4. None has worked. And of course with Samsung TVs we cannot actually use the FFWD and REW buttons on served files. Those are the only file types I have.

Oh, in that case, I can do that with all the files I have tried to do so. None have the resume function though.

Re: Bookmarking on Samsung C series

So I rejoiced prematurely, bookmarks, I suddenly stopped working, I did not change anything, one day it worked flawlessly, the other day that it does not work at all. Any idea? Serviio 0.5.1. Samsung TV UE40C6620.
  Code:
Takže jsem se radoval předčasně, záložky mi z ničeho nic přestaly fungovat, nic jsem neměnil, jeden den to fungovalo bezchybně, druhý den to už nefunguje vůbec. Nějaký nápad?
Serviio 0.1.2. and Samsung TV UE40C6620 and Samsung TV UE55ES6570 and Synology 212j

______ UPDATE ______

For some reason bookmark have stopped working or work erracticly and at the moment the serviio team have no idea why, we are working to get this sorted and will post back here once we fix this, if you find you can get bookmarks working consistantly and can explain exactly how you made this work then please post, otherwise you will just need to wait till its sorted. :)

what model?

Bought UE40C6530 ... nice TV, but :

1) the DLNA UI sucks, on my B650 it's much better, especially DVD thumbnails are not stretched
2) ffwd/rew with arrows only works by jumping 20secs or so, on B650 the longer you hold it the further you get in the film

Bookmarks don't work for me either, will try to investigate. Could it be firmware based? Did those who had it working update firmware recently?

Re: Bookmarking on Samsung C series

Speaking from pretty much a zero knowledge base - could it have anything to do with the fact that the player/TV always shows up as an "Unrecognized device" rather than as some specific Samsung machine ?

nope as samsung devices are auto detected and dont show up as Unrecognised.
