Remux/Audio Transcoding Only Option

Please can you also add the option for Remux/Audio Transcoding Only option
My main Serviio is run on a low power efficient ARM CPU to run 24/7

Theres alot of NAS that run ARM, their cheaper than the Intel version. 3 in 1 Serviio QPKG Serviio for my QNAP package downloaded are ARM chips.
This ARM CPU has the capability to transcode audio and remux video files but not good at transcoding video at all!

If i uncheck Enable transcoding, the video files could play by remux/audio transcoding dissappear from my Sony TV
My request to include one extra option on Transcoding tab:

[ ] Enable Full Transcoding
[ ] Enable Remux/Audio Transcoding only
Sony Bravia 2010 52NX803 - Sony PS3 - Xbox 360
Serviio running on QNAP NAS 639 Pro - 1.6 Intel Dual Core - 2GB RAM and QNAP NAS 121 - 2Ghz ARM Marvell - 1GB RAM
Console using ServiiDroid for Android, ServiiMetro and ServiiWP for Windows Phone and WebUI for iOS

Not quite sure what you need. You want the files that cannot be played due to the power not appear? It seems more confusing for people, they will be complaining that their files are not added.

Re: Remux/Audio Transcoding Only Option

Yes. By not ticking "Enable transcoding", only the native files appear on my devices.
If by having Remux only option, native files and files than can be remuxed will appear (alot more files than turning off "Enable Transcoding")

It causes a big issue on my low powered server when a file is fully transcoded (ie CPU 100% for long periods, heat that stock ARM fan cant cool down, slows down other services i need running).
I have to manually kill the process.
To avoid accidental playing files thats fully transcoded ive resorted edit the profile.xml to avi and other files that require full transcode on my Sony TV. I have to do this everytime in install a new build.

To avoid the confusion, possible a message saying "Not all your videos will appear if this option is enabled"
I rather avoid attemping playing .avi files on my TV that would cause a massive strain on my sever. So hiding them would be easier.
Im sure other NAS users want this rather to turn off Enable transcoding alltogether! I would love this!

Re: Remux/Audio Transcoding Only Option

Wouldn't creating a custom profile work, then you can tell it what to do?

Serviio can't know whether a particular file will cause lots of CPU usage. I guess the remux option will assume this is always OK and just remux the video/audio with no transcoding. I just assumed you could do that in profiles.

Re: Remux/Audio Transcoding Only Option

That's what I've been doing, removing all the file types in profiles that I know Serviio will full transcode, example mkv files don't show up on Xbox 360, avi files don't appear on my Sony TV
