I have two Samsung TVs
- UE32C6000RWXXH - which has no problems with MKV playback at all...
- PS51D570C2SXBT (latest fw 1026.0)- which has the problems described above...
The problem seems to be connected with wired connection. I haven't experienced it when trying through wireless!
I tried following software:
- serviio is 0.6.1 (couldn't find previous versions)
- Samsung all share
- TVmobili
In first two cases the MKV playback has the sound failure. However, interesting is that TVmobili works just fine...
I did not notice any connection with different MKVs (I have just 1080p but with different content). My test included at least 20 files and ALL of them have the problem.
Regarding the previous discussion - my PC has also the Realtek network card (RTL8168E)
According to my opinion the problem seems to be more in the TV but why TVmobili works fine???
Did anybody find a solution for this problems? Could you please share?
Thank you...
Update: Hi guys, I know this post is quite old, but I would also like to confirm that I have had great success as a result of finding this post, with changing to Wireless in lieu of ethernet, and that the NIC I have has a different model to both of the already previously reported ones, being
Realtek 8111E (DELL XPS 8500 Desktop). I can also confirm that this previous info (discovery) targeted mostly for Serviio 0.6x, is still accurate for the current PROD and Beta versions, namely v1.4.1.2 and v1.5 B3.
I believe this post should be made a
sticky so that it is more easily found by us fellow Serviio lovers, as this valuable info re wireless swapover suggestions, is quite buried, and I only stumbled across it by accident. What do you say zip? Do you agree with this course of action?
Needless to say, my networking experience with Serviio DLNA has now improved tenfold as a result. For those into the tech side of WLAN, I have since disabled my Ethernet device and I'm now using a great WLAN device from Shenzhen China from Tenda called a W900U, purchased from ebay (so cheap, I actually bought 2...). Monitoring software (works with Win8x too), is a little buggy, but the device itself is great and rock-solid. Check the stats below:

Also getting fantastic WLAN experience in general via Dual Band Wireless Extenders that eat Ethernet for breakfast.

Thanks.
