Help with streaming from Samsung i9305 to SONY KDL-40NX803

I have a SONY KDL-40NX803 and used Serviio 0.6.2 as my DLNA server.
Note the past tense since Java and I fell out over who controls my PC! (only temporarily I hope!)
I've now bought a used Samsung Galaxy S3 and wanted to stream media to my TV.
The phone has the in-built ability to do this without any additional software and whilst music and photos work fine, video fails completely displaying a window entitled "CHANGE PLAYER" and a triangular icon showing an exclamation mark.
The body of the message reads :-
"Player is not available. Check the network status and connected device"

Samsung say the fault lies with SONY, they recon that maybe the TV is not capable as it is a 2010 model.
They recommended using Serviio via my PC, which rather confused me.
Another person recommended I install "bubble upnp" on my phone.
That seemed to be the most likely candidate so I installed it.
Bad move!
It plays sweet Fanny Adams, nothing, nichts, nada, diddly squat!
All I get is excuses in the form of inscruitable messages.
Since I'm struggling to get to know Android, I can't even find a way to un-install it!
Can someone advise me how to achieve my desired result by any means?
