mkv stuttering sound on samsung D series

Hi

I have been using Serviio for a while now and i have always converted MKV files so that they would play ok
but now i have loads and really wanted them to just play without the hassle of converting

On my samsung LE40D550 i have the correct profile selected but when i try to play a MKV file the sound stutters but the video is fine
I can play the files fine on the Xbox 360 and on the Wii which are connected to the same router

I also tried the Sharp Aquos profile (thought i read that on the forums) and that did improve some files but not all

I have tried searching here and also tried to compare profiles but i'm afraid i am getting very confused

Just wondered if anyone had a profile that they could share that may work ?
Thanks

Re: mkv stuttering sound on samsung D series

Unfortunately not all MKV files are created equally - stating you have an issue with MKV files is like telling someone you have a problem with "a car". Just as you need to state what make, model, engine, etc. the car is, you need to provide specific details about the MKV files you are having trouble with. An MKV file will contain different video and audio streams, and may contain other embedded streams (subtitles, etc). These details are needed to enable people to help.

As you have a lot of files with issues, probably the best approach is use MediaInfo (see here) to look for commonality between the files you are having issues with - look for commonality in the video Format reported by MediaInfo, the Format Profile (if applicable), the audio Format and whether there is embedded subtitles. Once you have discovered some commonality, post a MediaInfo output for one of the files here.

Also let us know what profile you are using and what your subtitle settings are. If you can, monitor the CPU on your PC while playing a stuttering file and see what that is doing. Im also curious - what were you previously converting them to?

ps. the Samsung TV / player (C/D/E/F-series) passes most common MKV files to the TV natively whereas the Sharp Aquos profile remuxes most of them.
