serviio skipping files while streaming?
Hi All!
I've been using Serviio for the past 6-7 months and have loved having an easy option to stream movies from my computer and NAS to my TV! Lately i've been encountering an issue though, that i can't seem to fix, and i was hoping you all would be able to lend some advice.
I've seen 1-2 posts about this, without any real solution, but my situation is a little different from those posts so I figured i'd post.
Let me preface this by saying after a couple of tries I can understand networking, but i'm still very much a novice.
Right now Serviio runs off my laptop that is in my house office. All of our viewable files are on a NAS 220 (black armor), that is in my work office, which is all part of the same network. My laptop is run through a switch, which is wired to an access point in my bedroom, which runs a small jumper ethernet cable to my Samsung UN40D6000SFXZA. Everything is wired, and nothing runs wirelessly.
About two weeks ago, I started noticing issues with my Serviio jumping to the next file while in the middle of playing a file (any and all video files and formats). We weren't losing connection, or else the next video wouldn't start playing, but i did notice that my wired and wireless connections had super slow connections speeds. I am going to run another wired test tomorrow to double check it, but currently my wifi speeds are at .5mbps dl and about 10mbps ul (i said they were slow!)
I'm using Comcast business class internet, which is run through a linksys switch into my house. This feeds into another switch in my house office, which then feeds to a linksys e1200 access point (in bridge mode) that runs to the TV.
So my question is, what can i do to fix my slow speeds on my access point, as i feel that is greatly affecting my playabilty. is that correct?
Sub question, is there any other known issues with Serviio and my particular TV that cause the files to jump? I can fast forward and rewind on all of my files, but they jump at different points, anytime i view them.
