Constant loading on TV?

I bought a new 60" Samsung (PS60F5500) and was keen to stream my Video collection from my PC instead of putting everthing on a USB stick as a normally do.
I was recommended Serviio, so i installed it on my PC.
Installation was no problem and i opened the console and shared my files.
I waited a while (for the server to do its thing) as these things do
I saw the TV in the Device names and set its profile to "Samsung TV / Player (E/F Series)"
I went to the TV and opened sources... i see Serviio and click it to open a video
i get the yellow Serviio logo on the top left and LOADING on the top right... after a while the TV restarts and goes back to normal?

I went back into my router and opened the ports suggested and assigned them to the TV, tied again and its still the same?

Any ideas, am i overlooking something?

BT home hub 5 router
Wireless connection from TV to PC

have you shared anything?
1. share one folder with few files in it.
2. after that works, go for whole library.

Yea i shared 4 folders
Is it possible ive shared to much straight away?

yes, it takes time to build huge libraries.... especially on slow pc
first share small folder just to test, then others (one folder at time)

I'm starting to think it may be a conflict with WMP?

I just tried to access the files on my PS3 and its says its Serviio (yellow icon etc) but ...
On Serviio now i only have 1 folder shared with 1 small video file in it, and on my PS3 i can see loads of files!!

How do i disable WMP? it might not be that, but it probably doesnt help

i am on linux. no win pc near me, so i cant tell you exactly.
but you have to stop windows dlna sharing... google for it, this is first i discovered:

but disabling it won't speed build of library... just remove showing 'another dlna server'

OK im getting somewhere.

I stopped WMP, and i now have some control over Serviio, I shared one folder with 1 file in
On the Playstation.... I can see the folder, but when i open it there isnt anything there?
On the TV i open Videos and it says "No video files on the connected service"

So for tonight at least its back to the USB trick :/

only one file in library?
restart serviio (pc), wait few minutes, and then try to open on tv.... have to be there.

Fixed!!

2 problems, first i decided to check the shared folders properties.
even after telling my computer NOT to share certain folders, they still was! and it seemed no matter what i couldnt UN share them.
So i created a complete new folder and put a video file in and shared it with Serviio (making no changed to the actual folder in windows)

Logged into Serviio on my PS3 and yes! there was the video
Went downstairs clicked source Serviio and Video.... No video files?????
I tried ALL CONTENT and browsed to the folder and there it was!!! and i could play it (.mkv file)

So, for some reason it would seem that whatever WMP changed in the sharing properties, Serviio doesnt like it, so it needs new folders which is an easy fix.

But why my TV doesnt see a .mkv file, i clearly marked in the tick boxes as a video file ive no idea?
although on the PS3 it shows as both a Video and when i click Series it shows as Arrow > Season 2 > 01 City of Heroes 41'56"
jut need my TV to do the same and i will be perfectly happy

Thanks Serviio, its now working fully and OMFG!!!
its better than i ever thought it was going to be lol
my files not only come up with fancy covers and thumbnails but get the proper title to each episode... im truly amazed

S01e03 becomes the actual title, it looks awesome on the screen.

ive tried all day to get this working and i nearly give up! So glad i didnt.
Ive now added my films folder, next is my music.

when my trial expires ill be buying pro... the guy who made this deserves it!
nice work! my USB stick is now redundant!!
