BDC5500 stops playing stream

Got everything working, or so i thought,

Started today to watch my first film, streamed via my BeBox router to my Belkin router then to the C5500

5 minutes in, and it just stops and returns me to the folder menu...

Thinking it may be just the film, i tried another, only for it to do it again. (5.49 mutes this time)

any ideas?

My set up is as follows

Main PC - ethernet to router

Router - Thompson wireless to another Belkin wireless router (ethernet bridge type arrangment)

Then to the C5500 via ethernet

Re: BDC5500 stops playing stream

Can you post the log in the log folder in the serviio install directory?

Re: BDC5500 stops playing stream

hmm ok for some reason your BDP is disconnection from serviio.

2011-04-30 00:17:53,312 DEBUG [WebServer] I/O error: Connection reset by peer: socket write error

so a few questions.

wired 10/100/1000 or wireless?
are you running anything that would LAG the network serviio is running on ? ( torrent programs )
what is the spec of the computer running serviio?
have you bound the IP of your network adaptor in the serviio console?
can you try the setup without using the wireless bridge and they are always problematic? (always better off using the smasung wireless adapter for your device )

all i can think of for the moment..

Thanks for the response :)

Wired from main PC to router - wireless from router 1 to router 2 Wired from router 2 to Bluray
No torrents running, only 2nd laptop sitting on this site :)
PC spec ..erm but it streams to the xbox no probs (has done for years ;))
Bound address... not sure, will go and pull both routers this evening and check

Samsung wireless adapter.. your prolly right, but there extortionately priced for a wireless dongle.

really dont like the bridge setup.

ok cool

PC spec ..erm but it streams to the xbox no probs (has done for years ;))

different dvices require more or less spec as to how much is transcoded/remuxed to play

Bound address... not sure, will go and pull both routers this evening and check

deffinately required with the bridge setup.

Samsung wireless adapter.. your prolly right, but there extortionately priced for a wireless dongle.

yep you get what ya pay for ;), i have one and never had any issue with disconnects but granted they aint cheap BUT running RJ45 cable to all devices is alot more expensive ;)

Depends on the router so you need to read the manual.

Re: BDC5500 stops playing stream

Had a play around,

Reset & reconfigured the router..
Found it was set to some enhanced media transfer mode, which changed the traffic depending on whats on the network

Ive disabled it, and am currently streaming a movie for the youngest

I'll see what happens

Update...

2 pc''s on the network both wireless & the movie streaming... it stuttered at about 40 minutes, but recovered and ran ok

and i posted my first thread whilst them movie was running as well

however we had to stop after 45 minutes, as somebody got bored with the film ;)

Just watched the film that originally failed yesterday,

Two and a quarter hours without missing a beat :), and the laptop was on as well,

Now to find the films that wont play ;)
