UE40c7000 windows7 - file not supported

Firstly and fore mostly......

This is such a great bit of software, thank you to all that are involved..

I first installed this serviio on my computer when it was running XP and this work out of the box so to speak (thankfully for me, the only thing I had to do was fix the ipaddress).

Since I have updated my computer to windows 7, I sort of works but doesnt play anything, I can see all the folders and files, AVI's and Jpegs and MP3, with titles and all..

BUT and this is the bit that is killing me;

When I select any of the files I get - file format not supported

I have uninstalled and reinstalled this about 5 times now, just a little frustrated with myself for being so stupid and not being able to get it to work, I know I am not very computer minded..

The silly and interesting thing is that the files work via the windows 7 dnla system, only their file listing is not as smart as yours.

Please, Please can you help and advise, I have search through the forum and sort of found things to try but not understood to be honset..

Also for some reason every so often the tv doesnt show serviio yet still shows windows one. the serviio console will show the tv and the correct ip's but will have a red dot next to the tv. I have tried stop the service and then restarting both with the stop/start button and via, start>programs>serviio stop and serviio start..

PLEASE what simple thing am I missing

Re: UE40c7000 windows7 - file not supported

most likely it's the bound IP address or profile selection

Re: UE40c7000 windows7 - file not supported

Zip,

Thank you for your kind reply..

Everytime I have installed and reinstalled I have open the console and selected Status and set the Bound IP address to the TV address name 192.168.1.67 this address is a static address on the router. It I understood from the forum when I first set when I was running XP.

What to you mean profile and where would I find that please.

I dont know what I have done different to my xp setup. as I said I can see that the computer and TV talk to each other as it TV plays the films via windows route and the files can be seen via serviio but not played... aaaaggghhhh

Re: UE40c7000 windows7 - file not supported

the bound address filed must include IP address of the computer running Serviio

Re: UE40c7000 windows7 - file not supported

sorry if I am being stupid..

Once again thank you for help..

Currently

In the status tab.

I have

ipaddress Device Profile
192.168.1.67 Samsung DTV DMR Samsung TV / Player (C/D-Series)

Bound IP address 192.168.1.67

So I have put the wrong address in the bound I should have put the Servers(computer) address.

my computer is on
192.168.1.70

I will set the Bound IP address to 192.168.1.70

and retry

Yes, the bound IP address should be the computer that is running serviio IP Address.

Re: UE40c7000 windows7 - file not supported

Zip,

Have changed the Bound to my computers address being 192.168.1.70

Saved

Closed serviio down

Turned the TV Off and the on again

gone via windows START>Programs>Serviio>Stop serviio Service

then

START>Programs>Serviio>Start Serviio Service

Restarted Serviio console

Console status green for the TV

Check the tv

It shows the mircosoft media player and not serviio

this is so frustrating and I bet its something silly.

because the MS media is talking I kow that the computer and TV are connecting via the wires.

And I have a green dot next to the TV on the console status

any thoughts

you didn't restart the service properly (use Run As Administrator for the start menu items Stop/Start serviio service)

in the modern computering, no question is truely stupid as to the person asking it is trying to learn. :) although tech support first fix is always to turn her off and on again ;)
