Pictures and Music are displayed fine but not mkv files

Hello there!

I am new here at Serviio and I have encountered a problem that seems rather strange. I have a SAMSUNG ue40d8000 (D8000 series) and while its IP is displayed to my laptop, the name of the TV is not (unrecognized device). Furthermore and more important, in the TV's menu the pictures and music are displayed perfectly (accessed as well), but my movies, which are all .mkv files, are not. In detail, thumbnails of the movies are displayed, but when I am trying to access the file, I get a ''not supported file format''.

Can somebody help me with this, with simple steps, as I am not familiarised with transcoding, etc.?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Pictures and Music are displayed fine but not mkv files

I just figured out how to solve this.

On the status menu (in my macbook), while the device name is still ''unrecognized device'', the profile can be accessed and there i found the group of SAMSUNG TVs (d series). When I chose this, my TV ''recognized'' it as ALLSHARE content and now I can access all the mkv files.

The only thing now that bothers me is that the embedded subs are not displayed on the TV menu, while attached .srt files seems to work fine. No problem for any audio files (spoken language) though, as they are displayed on TV menu, where supported. I guess this has to do with the specific mkv files.

If you have any suggestions about the embedded subs, you are more than welcome.

Thanks for your time!
