I tried shutting off the anti-virus and firewalls, but no change. It was curious that other DLNA servers were being recognised, such as Nero HomeMedia 4.
But I found the solution for the Sony players.
When I went to the Network Settings/Connection Server settings on the Sony player in Setup I found 3 instances of Serviio listed, 2 with "hidden" attributes and one with "shown". I removed all the servers using Options and then updated the servers list on the player. Everything works fine now on the Sony player. Now I have to go to the other Sony players on the network and do the same... what a pain.
Curious though, I still do not see the Seviio icon listed on my remote laptop in network connections as I used to. That does not matter at all though because the drive with all my media on the main computer is shared and so it is easily accessed without Serviio by other computers on the network.
