Serviio using almost 148000 K memory

Task Manager tells me that my System is using 1.89GB of the 2046 installed.
I'm using Vista Ultimate 32 bit.
No idea why Serviio is using so much since the TV says it's not able to connect to it!
Can you tell me what's wrong?
I'm tempted to just "End Process" or "End Process Tree" to get some computing power back but I don't know what damage that might do!

Edit:
Just closed all my IE 9 tabs and re-opened them in FF...that saved 100,000K, and Serviio has dropped to 125,000K...still the TV says "unable to connect" despite the service evidenced as started in "Services".
I seem to have to "re-start" it quite often these days! :|

Edit edit
Couldn't resist, re-started Serviio and usage has dropped to 825 K would you believe!!

It's a Java app and Javamanages memory this way. It only releases memory when your OS actually needs it.

Uh! Don't get me started on Java!
I hate it with a vengeance!

I seem to have clawed back some control by beating "Samsung Kies" and it's entrails into submission!
That reinforces my belief that it is pure digital doggy doo!
Thanks zip.
