[SOLVED] Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

Hi,

I'm trying to read .Mov files from different Canon cameras on a new Bravia W650.
TV is connected thru wifi and can read usuals files without any problems.
In settings, I have choose Bravia 2013 profile, transcoded option is checked.
Files appears on the TV but can't be read.
I think that files are not transcoded on the fly.

Did I missed something.

Thanks in advance

Une livebox dans la signature, je peux peut-être répondre en français... ;o)

En même temps quand je vois la taille du fichier (400 mo pour 2.3 min) je me dis que c'est peut-être juste un problème de bitrate ?...

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

According to http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/13MW802111/ ... ist.html#5

Sony Bravia 2013 may support: MOV (*.mov) with AVC / H.264 BP@L3 video and PCM(U8) / PCM(S16BE) / PCM(S16LE) audio

Your file is a MOV/ H264 BP@L? / PCM(S16LE) but I don't know what is the h264 level.

Could you provide MediaInfo tools result (in text format) of your mov file ?

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

So on your mov file header, the h264 level is 4.1 with Baseline profile
(Profil du format : Baseline@L4.1)

but according to Sony specification, for Baseline profile the maximum level supported is L3
(AVC / H.264 BP@L3, MP@L4.2, HP@L4.2)

Could you enable detailed logging and confirm that your MOV file was delivered in native format (without transcoding) ?

Then we could try to detect this file configuration and try to transcode it.
Could you edit your profiles.xml, on "Sony Bravia TV (2013)" section edit lines like this:
  Code:
...      <Transcoding>
         <!-- Transcode all h264 video with HIGH/MAIN > Level 4.2 on MPEG-TS stream with MPEG2VIDEO and ac3 audio transcoding -->
         <!-- expected profile MPEG_TS_SD_EU/MPEG_TS_SD_NA/MPEG_TS_SD_KO -->
         <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3" DAR="16:9" forceInheritance="true">
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high_10" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high_444" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high_422" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="high" levelGreaterThan="4.2" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="main" levelGreaterThan="4.2" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="baseline" levelGreaterThan="3.0" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="c_baseline" levelGreaterThan="3.0" />
         </Video>
...

Save profiles.xml and restart serviio services (not server) or reboot the PC, then retry.

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

Oh,
I also notice that Sony Bravia 2013 seems not support PCM with 48kHz sample rate.
PCM(S16LE) 11.025k / 16k / 44.1k

So that also could be the problem. But I'm waiting for your test result from my previous post

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

No it isn't transcoded :
2014-01-14 12:18:20,711 DEBUG [VideoDeliveryEngine] Delivering file 'MVI_3836.MOV' in native format

I have tried to modify the profile.xml dut the video is still read in native :
2014-01-14 12:31:40,081 DEBUG [VideoDeliveryEngine] Delivering file 'MVI_3836.MOV' in native format

Thank you for your answer !

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

1/ I re-check your h264 params
Profil du format : Baseline@L4.1
Paramètres du format, RefFrames : 1 image
Largeur : 1 280 pixels
Hauteur : 720 pixels

According to this : http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=get_h264_level
dpbMbs = (1280* 720 * 1 ) / 256 = 3600 ==> Level 2.1 so your file seems not really a BaselineL4.1 but a BaselineL2.1

To understand, could you change the previous edited profile and change level to 2.0 ? then the file should be transcoded (check on log)
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="baseline" levelGreaterThan="2.0" />
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="c_baseline" levelGreaterThan="2.0" />

2/ For audio, could you restart with original profiles.xml, then edit the 2013 profile section by adding :
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" aCodec="lpcm" />

  Code:
         <!-- Remux all other h264 video to MPEG-TS stream with ac3 audio transcoding -->
         <!-- Remux all other matroska/mpeg2video to MPEG-TS stream with ac3 audio transcoding -->
         <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3" forceInheritance="true">
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" aCodec="lpcm" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" aCodec="truehd" />
            <Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" aCodec="flac" />
            <Matches container="avi" vCodec="h264" />
            <Matches container="flv" vCodec="h264" />
            <Matches container="wtv" vCodec="h264" />
            <Matches container="matroska" vCodec="mpeg2video" />
         </Video>

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

I did both.
in order to make modifications one by one, could you tell me what was the original values for these two lines :
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="baseline" levelGreaterThan="2.0" />
<Matches container="*" vCodec="h264" profile="c_baseline" levelGreaterThan="2.0" />
Edit : I answer to myself : They did not exist !
I will try tonight...

OK, I hope that only the (2) will be enough.

remove the two lines like this:

Re: Mov from Canon on Bravia w6

I finally leave the option (1).
Bitarate was too high for my wifi connection (18000kbs), so after transcoding, it works perfectly.
An idea : it might be useful to specify a maximum bitrate above which tanscoding would be active...

Already requested : https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/i ... te-for-use
But serviio dev, don't want to fix it.
