To much bitrate,l what can I do? :(

Illico wrote:_UPDATED (19/12/2011)_ :

FAQ
- Subtitle not supported in MPEG program streams (VOB files in other words).
- SRT subtitle files not supported (must be "burned" into video stream, need to transcode/remux it using virtualdub/avidemux)
- USB interface limited to FAT32
- When video bitrate is expensive (>20Mbps), the TV (could) becomes unresponsive - doesn't react on remote commands any more. Check with Bitrate Viewer
- MKV files are not supported in native format by Sony Bravia EX, so Serviio will transcode in MPEG2TS, nevertheless all subtitles will be lost with transcoding.
- AVC H264 High Profile maximum Level is 4.1
- Photo JPEG YCbCr 4:4:4 are not supported

- I can see the file on my TV and has a thumbnail picture, but when I try to play the file I get an error "The server is Temporarily unavailable". Serviio log : ERROR [ResourceTransportRequestHandler] Error while processing resource, sending back 500 error. Message: FFmpeg execution failed java.io.IOException: FFmpeg execution failed
Turn on detailed logging (see link) you should be able to see the FFmpeg command that is used for the transcode. Try executing the command manually in a terminal window and post the (error) result here.

I have a new Sony Bravida KDL-46EX724 which has worked great together with this excellent program (Svrviio) But now I´ve run into a very frustrating problem. I´ve been trying to watch a sport event, the file in the .mp4 format, which according to the bitrateviewer posted above peaks at 2418 kbps , I can watch about 70% of the event but after that I get the bad old message that the "server is temporarily unavailable try again later". I can fast forward for a while but when I get to around 75 % of the event everything brakes down and I can´t watch any more. What can I do to fix this?
The only solution I´ve found is that I try to watch another video and then go back and watch the file I want to watch, but once I get to that 75% mark it all goes downhill.

Watching the prelims for the same event peaked at 2124 kbps which worked out for me. I could even pause, rewind and fast forward.

Anny suggestions on how I can solve this problem. Or do I have to hand pick just about every file I want to watch?

Btw: I have a rather new and good computer and running windows 7. And I do use a Netgear wireless cable voice gateway CG3100 but I use wires instead of the WIFI...

"server is temporarily unavailable try again later"

The transcoded temporary file is probably not fully ready when the TV request it, but why ?
Could you enable detailed logging (see signature), find the ffmepg command line used to transcode the file, try locally in windows terminal the same command line, look at ffmpeg log (post here) and add the resulting ouput file to serviio library (you can also check the output file with vlc or MediaPlayer).

Thank you for your help. I tried to do as you recommended and here is the result... Just to be on the safe side i put XXXX instead of the path and the name of the file...

Is this the info you needed? I´m not really sure what you meant with the "add the resulting ouput file to serviio library"

Not really.

First:

Re: To much bitrate,l what can I do? :(

First time I did just that, but after enabeling the debugging in the log4j.xml I ran the ffmepg thingy. I never tried to watch the .mp4 file on my tv after enabling the debugging in the log4j.xml

EDIT: I just tried to play the file and after fast forwarding 1.5h. It froze, like previous times and I got the message that I lost contact to the server or something. Then I did the ffmepeg -i on the .mp4 file and the result is as below... I must have missed something on how you want me to show the debugging info. Because to me this info looks almost exactly like the one previously posted and that was not the info you needed.

If this is not what you want/need. Try to explain it in another way, I´m by no means a computer expert but I thought I knew my way around regular computer stuff. I guess I don´t... ;)

Thanx in advance...

Re: To much bitrate,l what can I do? :(

No problem, its probably due to my English...
The previous "ffmpeg -i <mp4file>" give me information about your mp4 source file, well.

But this file will be transcode by serviio/ffmpeg in mpeg2ts on temporary file (with .stf extension) when you start this movie on your Sony Bravia TV.
Look at the serviio temp folder you will find the resulting file. Could you copy this file in another path (change the extension *.ts) and add it to the serviio library?

EDIT: Today I made another try, managed to play the file untill somewhere around 1h and 32 min before I lost the connection to the server. But I copied the .stf file to another folder, changed the extension to .ts and was able to watch the whole movie. Though the fast forwarding was not as smooth as it was before. The temporary file is around 2 GB and the original is around 1.81 GB.

Any clues on what could be the problem?
