[SOLVED] .srt files with sony bravia TV

@zip

I have been waiting for version 1.2 since as you said it would be able to deliver external subtitles to sony TVs. However i have tried to play .mkv video with external .srt file and i couldn't see the subtitles. I have tried it with sony bravia models HX850 and EX720. Can you please advice?

Thanks,

Serviiocy

Subtitle feature : http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=33

- Check that subtitle feature is enabled on serviio console.
- Check that preferred langage is set.
- In a case the external (srt) subtitles are not displayed, the file might be corrupted or not suitable for viewing on your device. You might try fixing it with SrtWiz.

@Illico,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Now subtitles are shown after i checked option 2 & 3. One more question. Does it support Greek subtitles? And if it does what is the roght abbreviation for the language (I have used el, gr, greek)?

Re: .srt files with sony bravia TV

If you only want external subs, you don't need language code, unless you have more srt files per movie.

Re: .srt files with sony bravia TV

Thank you both. I have already tried to convert the .srt file to UTF-8 encoding . All i had to do was to restart the server. Problem resolved.
