Sony EX720 file plays from USB and not from Serviio

So I am loving Serviio for the most part. My thanks to the amazing community supporting it.

I have a Sony 46EX720 setup through a Linksys e4200 router (with a WD passport drive attached) to my Windows 7 laptop with Serviio. My media files are on my WD passport. I am using the Sony 2011 series profile.

Most of my AVIs were not playing on my TV and the solution I found was to Remux them with AVI-MUX_Gui using the Standalone_AVI_MP3 profile. Then the TV would play the Remuxed file perfectly through Serviio. However, if I put the original AVI on a usb flash drive and plug it into the TV, it plays the original file just fine. So i'm thinking it must be something in the Serviio profile that is presenting the original AVI file to the TV in a manner it does not like. So I am looking for help in fixing the profile so I do not have to Remux those AVIs.

Here is the Mediainfo from the original AVI:

Re: Sony EX720 file plays from USB and not from Serviio

We can't compare the USB and DLNA feature, this is not the same firmware used, that is why some files played fine over USB and not over DLNA.
Sorry, I don't know why this avi file does not work over your DLNA...

The only differences in your examples, are the application used to avi container remuxing, and the audio interleave preload duration : 240 ms/553ms

Ahh. I didn't know that the usb file support is different from the dlna support. In this case how can I setup the serviio profile to remux any avi I play similar to the avi-mux_gui profile that I was using? That would save me the headache of manually remuxing them.

Thanks

Select "Sony Bravia 2010" profile on serviio console.

The only difference between 2010 and 2011 profile is avi files will be transcode to mpeg2video.

Re: Sony EX720 file plays from USB and not from Serviio

Yes that is a working option. However, when the AVI's play fine by manual Remuxing, I do not want to unnecessarily transcode them.

So if someone can tell me how to edit the profile so that the AVI's are Remuxed (similar to what I am manually doing with the use of AVIMux_GUI) it would be highly appreciated. In case it helps, I can post the AVIMux_GUI profile I use for the Remuxing.

Thanks.

AVI target for remuxing is not supported by serviio/ffmpeg.

targetContainer - compulsory; name of container to transcode into; possible values: asf, mpeg (MPEG2PS), mpegts (MPEG2TS)
