[SOLVED] Sony BRAVIA TV - cannont access server

My Sony BRACIA KDL40-EX603 TV used to connect to serviio running on my Ubuntu box but recently I've been getting an error (on the TV). I can't pinpoint exactly when it started, but round about when Serviio went to v1. I'm currently running v1.2.1

Serviio uses the Sony Bravia TV (2010) profile (selected automatically).

On the TV I can browse the folders on the server, see the videos, and select them, but the TV then throws up an error:

Temporarily unanble to connect to server. Please re-try later.

No matter how many times I re-try, I just get the same error.

I've deleted all the servers on the TV and let the TV re-populate the list.

Any ideas?

Do you have a PRO version or a trial version ? Then try with Serviio MediaBrowser to play same file.

MediaBrowser gives this error:

200, Stream not found, NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound, clip: '[Clip] 'http://192.168.1.203:23424/cds/resource/21576/MEDIA_ITEM/FLV-0/MEDIUM,flv_player?authToken=fe634ec0575a41919637702b0bb49803'

I can, however, view all the videos - MP4s and WMVs - in VLC on my Mac using uPnP connection to Serviio on my Ubuntu box.

What is your ffmpeg version ?
Did you used the ffmpeg 1.1.1 with good libraries like this one : http://www.serviio.org/download ?

Ah-ha! Looks like you maybe onto something there...

parish@kubuntu:~$ ffmpeg
ffmpeg version 0.8.5-4:0.8.5-0ubuntu0.12.04.1, Copyright (c) 2000-2012 the Libav developers
built on Jan 24 2013 18:01:36 with gcc 4.6.3
*** THIS PROGRAM IS DEPRECATED ***
This program is only provided for compatibility and will be removed in a future release. Please use avconv instead.
Hyper fast Audio and Video encoder

I'll build 1.1.1 from source and see what difference that makes...

EDIT - Just installed Serviio on my Mac and the same videos play fine from that

Re: Sony BRAVIA TV - cannont access server

OK, I've built and installed the versions of ffmpeg, libRTMP, and LAME recommended on the download page and everything is working perfectly now - even solved another couple of issues I had.

Thanks Illico :D
