Renderer expiration problem with LG LM660S TV

Hi,

I'm using Serviio since a year now, but a few days ago after installing 1.2 a problem appeared and it persists even after going back to 1.1 or to an older version (clean install).
So 30 minutes after starting the service it removes the TV from the active renderers list.
The older versions had some problems, because the share dissappeared from the TV after a while, but there were no disconnects while watching movies, but now the problem happens with the older versions too.

When starting the service it changes the profile to "LG TV / player" and then to "LG TV" with green dot, but sometimes it get stuck on the "LG TV / player" profile, which is not working with the TV.
It does not matter if I choose manually the "Generic DLNA profile", it also gets disconnected after 30 minutes.

After completely removing the "LG TV / player" profile from the profiles.xml the same happens and I need to power cycle the TV and stop/start the service to get the share back and it starts over.

Debug log without the profile: LOG2

Looks like an environment problem.

- player firmware update?
- network changes (e.g. if you are on wifi, there can be higher traffic caused by neighbours)

Re: Renderer expiration problem with LG LM660S TV

There is no high traffic and only the TV and the computer is on the network and the TV's firmware is up to date.
Nothing has changed, I just installed the 1.2 version and the problem appeared.

After 30 minutes the share is unreachable and the only solution is to power cycle everything and stop/start the service which is very annoying.

It is a problem with Serviio, because with other softwares it is working fine.

You suggesting it's now broken with 1.1 as well, while it used to be working, means it's environment. Try a different java version.

I tried to uninstall the latest Java, then install an older version (7u11), but the problem that I mentioned is still there.
After 30 minutes the share is not visible from the TV and only a power cycle solves it.

At the first 30 minutes there is incoming connection from the TV, but then the connection disappears.

Re: Renderer expiration problem with LG LM660S TV

If you search the log for DiscoveryAdvertisementNotifier you will see Serviio advertises itself every 3-4 minutes or so and specifying duration of the advertisement to be 1800 secs (30 mins). So either the multicast is not delivered to the TV, or the TV ignores it.

Yes, it advertises itself every 3-4 minutes and the duration is 30 minutes, but with other softwares it is working fine for hours.
So the UDP multicast is delivered to the TV, else I would not see the share at all.

Now I tested it with my phone and with my other TV and after 30 minutes the share is no longer available.

Can you try it with the latest Java 6?

The same happens with Java 6u43 after 30 minutes.

Re: Renderer expiration problem with LG LM660S TV

So if I do nothing with the share, then it disappears after 30 minutes, but if I start to watch a movie, then all is working good until I stop watching it.
After I stopped the movie, the share is visible until it sends the next multicast, then it immediately disappears and the only solution is to do a power cycle.

EDIT: It is still disconnecting after 30 minutes, even if I watch a movie. Maybe it was not running for 30 minutes when this happened.
