Panasonic TX-L37G15B

Hi,

I bought this DLNA TV when the technology was quite new. It only supports AVI and MPEG2 format.
Servillo 1.2.1 offers 3 transcoding options, but the 'TX' range isn't listed in any of them. So I suspect that it falls into the '2010' list which isn't heavily supported (due to lack of UPnP, I think).

I can't find any other thread on this forum covering this early Panasonic model. (My tests were to transcode some mkv's).

So, really I'm posting this so anyone else doing a se4arch for this model number can find this thread and see that they are not alone. If there's something anyone wishes me to do/collect then I'll be happy to do so of course to help the cause.

Thanks,
Denigor.

Try some non Viera profiles if they work for you, specifically DirecTV might help.

Re: Panasonic TX-L37G15B

Haven't your model, but it seems similar to mine (DivX and Mpeg2 support and not a lot else).
The 2010 profile should work for you (ensure you press Save after selecting the profile). The only improvement I did to my profile was I found I could get away with simply remuxing the remaining MKV files rather than transcoding them. So I changed (in the Panasonic Viera (2010) profile):

    <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetVCodec="mpeg2video" targetACodec="ac3">
    to
    <Video targetContainer="mpegts" targetACodec="ac3">
Remember to restart your PC after changing profiles.xml. You can also un-comment the <Detection> bit if you want - this may help Serviio auto detect the TV as long as you don't have other Panasonic TV's on your network.

Re: Panasonic TX-L37G15B

The advice about using DirectV (Specifically I chose 'DirecTV HD-DVR' profile) was good. It's the best we've had it working so far, and it's better than TwonkyMedia and conversion utilities which I had to use until now.

It's not perfect. Some movies which are not widescreen have the far-right lines reproduced to provide a 'stripey' effect on that side of the screen. But, it's watchable and audio is good, and most movie files are working great now so I'm happy.

Really Super App all round. If there's one suggestion I'd make to improve it further it would be to enable it to transcode Audio files to Video-audio in some profiles. This old TV doesn't support MP3 or AAC files, so the only way I could get it to play my music library would be to get them into video files.

Thanks!
