Serviio on Synology plugin problems

I've got Serviio running on my Diskstation and console running on a win 7 pc. I added the unzipped plugins pack to 2 places on the server:
/volume1/public/serviio/plugins and /volume1/@appstore/Serviio/plugins (I also added them to the plugins folder on the console PC). I chmod 777 the plugins folder on the diskstation (probably overkill but wanted to rule out permissions as my problem). I added a test Online RSS/Atom feed in the console:
http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/stan ... /top_rated. I go into xbmc and make a UPNP connection to Serviio, browse to my online folder, see the test url, but there is nothing there when I click on it. No isssues in the Serviio error log either. Can someone advise what I'm missing? Thanks.

As an update I upgraded my diskstation's java from 6 to 7 and actually saw some youtube videos via xbmc. Thought I had the problem fixed. Then I went back to today and my xbmc folder for serviio's online content is empty again. nothing in the logs so I could really use any advice anyone may have.
