can't see shared drives on Synology NAS DS212+

Hi

I'm having a problem setting up shared folders on my NAS (Syno DS212+). It's running the latest DSM 4.1.

I've installed the Synology package by first setting up home directories, a public folder (and setting all privs) and installing Java 7 with the file that is copied into the public folder from the Oracle website. Then I installed the package and set read privs to the shared folders for the serviio user.

This all seems to be fine and I can connect with the Console on my Windows machine and can see the service on my Pure Evoke Flow radio. Problem is that if I try to add a shared folder in the console (that I have given read priviliges for the Serviio user) such as 'music', the Serviio appication on the NAS can't access the folder. It says in the log that "either it doesn't exist or there are insufficient priviliges to access the folder". :( I am setting up the folders such as /volume 1/music and saving.

Also, am I likeley to be able to stream (transcode) FLACS from the DS212+ to my Evoke Flow Radio? It 'stutters' from the Synology media server when I tick the option to transcode FLACS. This is why I'm giving Serviio a whirl!

Thanks very much

Will

Re: can't see shared drives on Synology NAS DS212+

ignore that, I was using 'volume 1' and not 'volume1'. Doh!

Cheers

Will.
