Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I've uploaded a small update to Google Play that fixes a fairly nasty bug in the audio cache that caused the app to crash if it contained very old music. Luckily I think its only effected 1 or 2 users.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Hi Will, after reading this thread - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8432

And after what you said about ServiiGo being very limited to Serviio Pro licence holders only
Why not make use for all Serviio users by including Serviio DLNA controller
My personal favorite is Sonys Network Audio Remote - https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .app&hl=en to play music from my Serviio folders to my TV
This app feature scream your brilliant design. There is very few apps that does DNLA media control, most have bad interface.

This way users can control music, control volume without having to pick their TV/DVD remote all in one app
Ive read somewhere video can be controlled aswell by DNLA
Sony Bravia 2010 52NX803 - Sony PS3 - Xbox 360
Serviio running on QNAP NAS 639 Pro - 1.6 Intel Dual Core - 2GB RAM and QNAP NAS 121 - 2Ghz ARM Marvell - 1GB RAM
Console using ServiiDroid for Android, ServiiMetro and ServiiWP for Windows Phone and WebUI for iOS

This is something I was thinking about the other week and I'm investigating if this can be done without having to implement the full DLNA browse at the client end. E.g. it would only be available for Pro users as I would do the browsing using the CDS API, but make a request to get something I can send using DLNA Play to type thing when connected to the home wifi network. If it requires full DLNA browsing, then it won't happen for a while if ever.

I've uploaded a new beta. It has a lot of under the hood changes to improve performance as well as a few more additions. Please test queuing tracks by going to an artist and long clicking the album, and also test the image viewer and swiping through videos. Also feedback on the series view on tablets would be good.

  Code:
==== 2.0 Beta 2 ====
*Lots of performance optimisations
*Improved use of data from TheTVDB
*Added support for playing/queueing albums via long click
*Added Google Analytics to help discover the most used features

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Any feedback on beta versions? I would like to get it released this weekend. I'm especially interested in if the tv show metadata works correctly for non english shows.

@The person who tried it on a BlackBerry Playbook, not sure why it crashed where it did, if you want to supply some more info I'll look into it, otherwise I'll leave it as is.

Hi,

I was just replying to your email. The API that ServiiGo uses (how it talks and fetches data from Serviio), is only available in the Pro version of Serviio, so if you do not have a Pro license for Serviio you will not be able to use ServiiGo. Buying the donate key for ServiiGo doesn't change that as its down to the server.

Its not up to me. I can understand why zip is keeping the API for the Pro version only, as its a pretty significant feature.

New update, this has a number of fixes to the series and episode views on odd shaped and large tablets, and some updated translations (thanks to those who submit them). Please give it a quick test and let me know how it goes, I'm aiming to release to google play tomorrow lunch time ish.

TheTVDB.com is down at the moment, so tv show metadata fetching isn't working that well.

Definitely the upgrade is well worth it, there's no other servers I know that can stream my home content on my phone. To be honest it's too under priced for what it can do, there's no monthly fees, Serviio Pro + ServiiGo is pure entertainment rather than shooting birds in the air at pigs on your phone! ;)

@will, running rock solid on my phone, bsplayer works perfect with it. Noticed speed improvements too.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I've just uploaded 2.0 to Google Play and it should be with you shortly. Thanks for those who downloaded the beta versions and especially thanks to those who also gave feedback.

  Code:
==== 2.0 ====
*TheTVDB integration for additional metadata for your tv shows (#30) (Donate version only)
*High-res album art is extracted from music once it has been fully downloaded (Android 2.3.3 and up) (Donate version only)
*Improved image slideshow (more responsive controls (#27), lower memory use and better prefetching)
*Re-worked navigation via a slide out menu (G+/YouTube style)
*UI adjustments to video view including swipe left/right to change between videos
*Re-designed artist and album artist browsing experience using grids of artwork and added support for playing/queuing albums via long click
*Performance and memory optimisations to the image manager
*Unique icons for containers (#25)
*Lots of bug fixes, performance optimisations and UI adjustments
*Updated libraries and added Google Analytics
*Updated translations

Please note that TheTVDB is partially down at the moment, so fetching tv show metadata will be slow/may time out. Hopefully that will be resolved in a few days time.

Looking forward I've updated the target versions for some of the issues which have been on my todo list for far too long, and I'm going to try and stick to that rather than delaying them even more. If I've missed something do remind me.

Also, if you haven't rated and reviewed the app yet, please do. If you do not think its worth 5 stars, tell me why via this thread/email/pm and I'll try to fix/add what you think is missing.

I've uploaded a small update that fixes a crash in the Image Slideshow and adds some extra debugging info to help me track down a bug when viewing videos that I cannot reproduce.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Small update, thanks to Sandy for emailing me about it.
  Code:
==== 2.0.2 ====
*Fixed playback of live video streams
*Fixed viewing videos inside folders with a mix of folders and videos

PS I made a bit of a mess of the update, if you get a FC when viewing movies, re-check google play for a revised version.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

New user to the software, but it works well. I noticed that after the latest update I was unable to use the slider bar to change the position within the video using ServiioGo from Google Play. I've rebooted my phone and it still seems to have the same issue.

Other than that, this works very well indeed!

Thank you sir!

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Which sort of video (online source or normal) and which quality. Nothing releated to that has changed in ServiiGo, if you have Serviio 1.1, you should be able to seek when using Original quality for normal and possibly for some online sources (I need to go through different types of online sources and remove transcoding for those that will work), but not when using Medium or Low qualities, for that I need to write my own player, which will hopefully happen at some point, but no eta as of yet, or I need to get one or more of the 3rd party video player devs to add support.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Recently added Online sources and was testing. All is working well on the serviio (Pro 1.1) side. Went to test ServiiGo (2.0.2 donate) on my RAZR Max. All media is displayed properly. However, in the Video section when I select an item from a series or an online source ro view the play icon (right arrowhead) in the top bar is missing. If I swipe to the next episode the play icon appears. Swiping back the icon is properly shown on the original selection.

Great App. Great experience. Small Bug not a big deal.

That sounds like a platform bug, or a bug in the library I use to provide the ActionBar on older platforms. Which android version does your phone run?
