It is plain text as I've never seen anything else. I assume you are editing a .nfo file,
might work.

Yes but I won't be able to look at it until around the 15th.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I've been working on fixing audio playback of uncached files for certain devices (slight stutter during playback when the Media Player thinks the file has eneded when it hasn't). I think I have come up with a reasonable solution to this however, a side effect is that for now (I may be able to work around it in the future) I have to disable seeking while the file is being downloaded. Once it has been fully downloaded you can seek as normal, and as the download doesn't usually take very long (<5 seconds on WiFi, <30 seconds on reasonable 3G), I think its an OK trade off. Any thoughts on this?

Later this week I will want people to test the new implementation, epsecially if you listen to audio files that aren't mp3s, so please let me know. However, at the moment it isn't ready as I've had to rip apart the whole backed in order to insert a local webserver proxy between the native Media Player and the partially downloaded files on the SD card.

@mbil74, Thanks, I'll have a look at that file later this week.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Will multiple servers be implemented at any point?

I have a nat loopback disabled router so cannot access my Serviio server when on the home WiFi using the DynamicDNS address - i have to use the local IP.

It would be handy to be able to setup two so I can login at home or away without typing in the name each time - easier to setup for the kids too.

I wasn't planning on it as I think you are the first person who has asked for it, can you not enable loopback on your router?

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

Not all routers can be setup for this - and unfortunately mine cannot.

I asked as on Page 1 you mentioned it:

viewtopic.php?p=49013#p49013

Just wondered if it was still on the roadmap - there is this function in ServiiDroid.

Ah so someone did, that was a long time ago without any prompting... As a general rule of thumb I measure new features on how many times I'm asked/reminded.

I'm heavily focusing on Audio improvements atm, once that is done i'll look to do it.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

ServiiGo 2.2 Beta 1 is now ready for download : https://bitbucket.org/willlunniss/servi ... -Beta1.apk

This has a range of fixes in it with the main one being a re-worked Music Player (completely ripped apart and hopefully put back together again properly...) that should work around the stuttering that some users have experienced when playing back partially downloaded files. This is due to the media player ending even when more of the file is availble. The fix was to insert a local web server to proxy requests to the file system

One side effect is I've had to disable seeking of files while they are being downloaded, is this a big problem for you, or are you OK with that restriction? Once the file has been downloaded seeking is enabled (seekbar goes blue).

Anyway, please test it, with both mp3s and non-mp3s, over WiFi and 3G/2G. If everything goes well I'll continue to add some more features and get 2.2 out by the end of the month.

Is that html or plain text? (I need to have some new line shown here and there but "\n" doesn't work... how about
or else?)

Thanks! :)

Can you try with \n but without the bit and the start and end. (I don't think I can test it without changing my metadata settings or setting up a test server, but \n in the text field works for me).

I'm still against having multiple servers as most users don't need it. However, i've thought of what may be an actual solution to your problem, rather than a work around.

I currently store the external address and password, when searching for servers (can be entered manually as well), I could also store the internal IP and the WiFi network SSID. I could then add an advanced option to automatically connect to the internal IP address when connected to the specified WiFi network. That would mean the app would use the address that worked depending on the connection automatically. For now, you would still have to logout and back again on connection change, but I figure thats better than what it is now and better than having multiple servers listed.

I haven't implemented it yet, but it looks easy enough and won't add extra clutter for users who don't need it. Would this fit your needs?

Yes that would fit perfectly..better even. Can you do the same for ServiiDroid easily?

yes. you need to change metadata settings on your installtion or setting up a test server.
Using \n in plain text was my first try, but it was all shown on the same line... that's why I tried
Unfortunatelly I can't try it now since my pro evaluation license has expired but I'll a full pro license soon... :)

my I ask you if there's any new line show on some file details in your serviiGo/serviio installation? what does serviio api return for plot field on your installation for those files? :)

thanks.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

FYI - I have received a new router which now works with NAT Loopback...so the development has no urgency for me (I still think it's a useful implementation though).

Thanks for your support response...

Ok thanks for letting me know, in that case I'll hold this addition back until someone else asks for it. As far as I know most routers active on the sort of connect needed for ServiiGo ADSL2+/Fiber/Cable, don't have this problem. If I had realised your reasoning I would have done this a long time ago, goes to show the benifit of understanding why someone wants something just as much as what they want.

I checked all of my descriptions from online sources for movies and none had a new line in. However, when I injected \n into the response from Serviio it works (replaced '. ' with '.\n '). I could make it work with
as well, but that would require parsing every description in as HTML, which I guess compared to the work to load in fullscreen backgrounds is nothing, but it would be nicer to just use \n. I'll try to install Serviio on a different machine over the weekend and experiment, it may simply need escaping.

Re: ServiiGo (Android 3G/4G/Wifi Playback App)

I reverse proxy Serviio's MediaBrowser (including CDS) through my webserver at home. Remote viewing/listening works flawlessly in a browser over port 443 (and thus SSL). Does ServiiGo support https? I add the port number in the address field, but it never connects. If it does not currently, I would like to add this as a feature request. Thanks.

At the moment no, it doesn't support https, but I am going through the code as I change related code to enable it as it is something I would also like for myself. The parts I will need to properly test/will be the most likely blocker are Audio and Video playback. Are you using a self signed key?

It will come, but I need to finish off a number of other things first.
