4OD starts playback and then drops out

Hi

I have a Panasonic GT30B which Serviio quite merrily sends any video / picture / audio file I have on my PC to the TV - cracking stuff and very reliable thus far !!, however, when I've added various 4OD online streams, playback will start and its ace - but then after about 3 mins to 5 mins playback stops and I'm returned to the program selection menu.

I've got a BT home hub 3 which I've tried fiddling with some settings but to no avail.

I've also got a large debug file but cannot see anything obvious contained therein - there is an awful lot of media library checking going on which I think is masking the couple of entries of interest !

Any hints / ideas ?

Many thanks

Paul

theres ya issue your using a homehub, these things are shocking bad for DLNA, go out and buy a decent router.

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

I have the same problem (as mentioned in the 4oD thread) and so do a few other users and I don't have a home hub, so yes they may be bad, but that might not be the problem.

When I get some time, maybe at the weekend I wanted to investigate it.

I assume your running windows?

Post the log anyway, if it is too big, zip it up.

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

thanks Will ... is there a way of filtering out the media checking stuff in the log as I'm intrigued as to what Serviio is up to ??

I am indeed running Windows - the next step was to get a true DLNA NAS device so I do not have the PC on all the time.

If there is no way of filtering the log file then I'll zip it and post it up here.

Cheers

just had an idea try replacing the ffmpeg file in your serviio\lib directory with this one. restart serviio and try again to run 4OD feed.

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

Thanks Phil - am now going to give that a try.

I've attached the log from my previous attempts to run 4OD in case anyone is interested to take a peek. Will let you know how I get on with the new version of FFMPEG.

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

Phil - no joy with the new FFMPEG I'm afraid - in fact the TV was unable to read any of the files it was able to previously. Noticed in the log that serviio didn't like something with the compilation of FFMPEG as per :-

WARN [FFMPEGWrapper] FFmpeg is not compiled with librtmp support, RTMP streaming will not work.
WARN [FFMPEGWrapper] Could not work out FFmpeg default User-Agent

Its likely that I've not done something I should have ?

Cheers

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

Hi hi,

Not sure if it helps, but I also got the same issue on my qnap after upgrading to 0.6.2 from 0.6.1.

Normally ffmpeg will transcode the whole feed regardless of if the TV wants it or not, so I took a guess at it not being serviio or the TV's fault. I compiled the latest stable 0.10 ffmpeg and the problem went away.

I'm now using Cristians latest QNAP Serviio QPKG build from the official qnap forums which includes zips ffmpeg source.
He kindly packaged both web UI in one for us Qnappers!

Are you getting issues with your latest 0.10 ffmpeg build?

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

@keifos and Xamtium - please dont hijack :)

@paulculley - ah your running 32bit windows or you use winzip to open the package i bet that why it didnt work try this. ( must be 0.6.2 of serviio too )

download this and replace your ffmpeg.exe file in c:\program files\serviio\libs\ with the one in this packages \bin\ directory ( use winrar to extract and not winzip)

pick depending on your windows version.

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

Phil - many thanks - have tried the 32 bit version extracted with WinRAR and 4OD gets a bit further - about 5 minutes in and its then bombing out. Later on when the kids no longer need the TV I'll try again in debug mode and post the log file here if its any help ?

Re: 4OD starts playback and then drops out

sorry its taken a while - combination of kids and wife meant no time to experiment with settings until tonight.

Heres the debug file - playback stopped at @ 19.47 and went back to the stream selection page.

Hope this helps - if there anything else I can pass your way please let me know

Thanks

Real fix - viewtopic.php?f=20&t=4624&start=50#p40095

wasnt related to serviio/ffmpeg, it was just 4oD updating their swf player

I did a full restart of Serviio and refreshed each 4oD feed again so it doesnt use the old swf player
