temporary movie files for continue play back on 2nd device

Is it possible to make a temporary bookmark and transcode file for continued play back of a video on a second device in a different room . With like a 5 ,10,or 20 minute or a day or two expired time limit. U could have a file next to last viewed saying continued play.and for a extra the movies in the file could not don't just have there name but the date and device there where on . I know there is a protocol call liquidHD with more features witch will do the same but i don't see it any where at the moment.
