Stream video from internet

I like the possibility of adding video content from internet in the form of urls (ej: youtube an other sources) and stream it in real time to the TV via transcoding as it downloads?
Thanks

Re: Stream video from internet

It would be awesome to stream videos from rss video sites to the TV.
For example these videos in different languages:
http://uk.rss.filmtrailer.com/default/Latest30InCinema/
http://fr.rss.filmtrailer.com/default/Latest30InCinema/
http://de.rss.filmtrailer.com/default/Latest30InCinema/

or these gaming videos site:
http://www.gamestar.de/videos/rss/videos.rss

Is it possible to integrate this great feature in the next version 0.6? :D

you could try reading my post above that clearly states " ITS ON THE LIST FOR 0.6 " and you might find your answer.

Re: Stream video from internet

I welcome people posting all the different feed URL's so that I can make sure they can be supported.

Re: Stream video from internet

Ok that's nice :D
Here are some other feed urls which were interesting:
http://rss.chip.de/c/573/f/7444/index.rss
http://feeds.4players.de/Allgemein/videos/-/rss.xml
http://www.pcgames.de/feed.cfm?menu_alias=home/
http://www.pcgames.de/feed.cfm?menu_alias=home/

A very great source of german videos are the ARD and ZDF mediathek. But I think it's very difficult to integrate.

ZDF: http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/hauptnav ... startseite

Re: Stream video from internet

There are many streams on http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/
Also, there are a few live channels on http://www.nederland24.nl

It would be great if those were added!

Re: Stream video from internet

For dutch user this following site offers interesting feeds.

http://www.uitzendinggemist.nl/
http://www.rtl.nl/service/gemist/home/

Although I think they don't have a nice API I already found an 'working' Java implementation Plugin for PS3 Media Server, see http://code.google.com/p/uitzendinggemist-dlna/

Kind regards,
J.

Re: Stream video from internet

svtplay.se

A site offering flash and/or mp4 videos.

svtplay.se is the major/best/interesting site for streamed TV content in Sweden

The attached bourne shell script for OpenBSD-like systems shows how to get at the real streams given one has the starter URL for a particular show.
Shell script is courtesy another swede, not me.
Afore ye takes it in hand, be sure he agrees: contact via me, initially.

A starter URL could be

http://svtplay.se/t/136459/hung

for the current instalment for the series "Hung".
Attachments
SVTPlay.txt
(12.87 KiB) Downloaded 604 times
Serviio 2.3 in a jail on TrueNAS 13 running on an HP N54L w 5*4 TB spinning rust disks.
The media files are on the same machine.

Re: Stream video from internet

Do we have an ETA for this feature?
Is any help needed?

Please make sure it supports transcoding ASF/WMV8 to MPEG2, as my TV is very limited in codecs ...
Here's an example feed:

Re: Stream video from internet

I have basic feed streaming ready, need to put some UI together and then the first beta will be out. Should be soon. Transcoding will be driven by the same transcoding configuration that's there for the local files, so if your profile is correct you should have no problems.

Re: Stream video from internet

Will this be a public beta? Or only for the beta test group? (Yes, I'm interested :) )
