Web interface administration

Seriously serviio is great but it really could do with management via web interface.

I'm using ubuntu server with webmin which is really quite useful too so a webmin module would be helpful im sure

and how about a serviio package for ubuntu?

the serviio database seems slow compared to something like subsonic's which can load seemingly moments and you have access to it all.

sure some of these things are luxury items but would be nice features for any new users looking to use serviio for the fisrt time with ubuntu etc

serviio + subsonic is what im looking for :)

Re: Web interface administration

Check out the Third-party tools integration forum at the bottom. There are some webui's there.

Re: Web interface administration

installed kairoh webui and seems to do exactly what i need, something like this should really be installed with serviio

adding this as a webmin module would be great, then i could do all my server management from there which would be awesome.

fwiw i also added an upstart script for ubuntu 11.10 to autostart it, seems to work ok with the limited time ive tested

start on started networking
script
/home/marc/serviio-0.6.0.1/bin/serviio-webui.sh
end script

Re: Web interface administration

webmin module is not a bad idea, do you know any documentation about this?

Re: Web interface administration

here you go kairoh, would be great if you could put something together. another good reason to do it via webmin would be security as currently anyone on local lan could potentially access and change settings via your web interface (from what i can see) not much of an issue for your average home user though.

Re: Web interface administration

Zip prefers to let the user's choice for multiple admin tools.

At first there was some IP/network filtering, but I removed them to simplify the installation.
Same for authentication, which may be clumsy to set.

I will read about webmin.
