Show which file is going to be transcoded

Hi all,

haven't found if this has come up somewhere else before, but I'd like to see from the client's list of videos/audios which of them is going to be transcoded. Not that one can do anything about it if it is transcoded (or not), just an informative flag in the list, like the asterisk for recently played files. I've tried numerous DLNA servers before and I've seen e.g. a "(T)" added as a prefix for transcoded files.

Have an nice one,
Low

I was thinking about something similar myself anyway. Just not sure if to put it into every browsing category or just (for example) by Folder. Will see.

Re: Show which file is going to be transcoded

There will always be folders where natively playable files coexist with to-be-transcoded files. And only the latter should be marked.

If you mark a whole folder with a transcode flag, this can't be more specific than "This folder contains at least one file that is going to be transcoded. Come and have a guess which one this might be...". I think the asterisk handles it like this. For instance it marks every episode in a folder containing a whole season of a tv show, as soon as the first episode was watched. Which is kind of confusing (me), as you never know which epi is still unwatched.

If it's the case then it's a bug. Can you PM me a detailed log of when you play an episode? The proper behaviour is:

- mark season of the last watched episode
- mark last watched episode
- + this only happens in the Series browsing category
