Kind of Fast Forwarding

Hi. I don't know if this is what everyone here refers when speaking of Fast Forwarding but there's a nice feature that I miss that a DLNA server that I used to use has (Mezzm0). For the record, my TV is a Samsung C series without chapter support.

This is the actual state of Serviio: When pressing the forward key ONCE (the arrow pointing to the right) the video jumps a couple of minutes forward and continues playing. And if I hold the arrow key pressed, it starts jumping repeatedly until I release the button. But the time jumps are always the same length. Eg. 3 minutes per time jump.

This is what I would like (and that other DLNA server uses): When I press the forward arrow once it jumps a fixed time, eg. 3 minutes. But if I hold it, it first jumps 3 minutes, then 6 minutes, then 12 minutes, then 24 minutes, etc (the numbers are just an example). That way you can fast forward a movie MUCH faster than having to do it in short time jumps. I really don't know how this is implemented exactly, but I guess that Serviio should detect consecutive forward requests and modify the jump forward time according to how long have you been pressing that button (with a predefined maximum jump of eg. 20 minutes).

What do you think?

Re: Kind of Fast Forwarding

That is responsibility of the renderer. Also your solution would be Samsung specific. Im not sure how they do it but Samsung B series works the same way you described using Serviio.
