Folder Hierarchy / Console Revamp

Before I start I just wanted to say that Serviio is pretty impressive. Despite all the advanced feature some other Media Servers have this one seems to really do the trick. I would however like to see better control over the Folder Hierarchy. Just some basic stuff like a Manual layout vs. having to disable all the default categories and tinker with there visibility in order to achieve the setup that I'm looking for. After all I don't think I personally know of anyone who selects a Movie or TV Show based on an Artist or Author. Simply creating the Hierarchy based on the folder layout on my computer would seem to suffice. Currently my setup is as followed:

(TV Menu) Videos / Music / Images --> Movies / TV Shows --> Series --> BLAHBLAH S01E01

However, it took a bit of tweaking to accomplish this. Also on the list was the ability to change the name of the Media Server via the Console. Currently you have to change the entry under the Generic Profile in order to change this. Also, it would be awesome if I could stop the console from starting up with my computer, it's not really a problem, just annoying at times when I'm trying to get stuff done.

Re: Folder Hierarchy / Console Revamp

Does the Presentation tab already do what you need?

You can disbale console from starting, just remove it from the Start menu under Startup folder.

Re: Folder Hierarchy / Console Revamp

I didn't even think to look in the startup folder as most people just don't use it anymore lol. Anyway the Presentation tab does what I need it too for the most part, but I think it would almost be easier to base the hierarchy off the libraries that you add, and then give you the ability to add categories manually via filters that you can create. However, for the average user I could see this being slightly complicated when it comes to actually created the filters. Mainly it would be nice to apply the series filter specifically to a folder under the library. For example, what I currently have looks a little like this:

(TV Menu) Videos / Music / Images --> TV Shows / Movies --> Series --> ALL THE EPISODES (S01E01 - S05E04)

but after applying a filter specifically to the TV Shows library only it could possibly looks something more like:

(TV Menu) Videos / Music / Images --> TV Shows / Movies --> Series --> Season --> EPISODE

without having to change the physical hierarchy on the system. Currently if I were to active Series and Folders under the Presentation tab, it has a tenancy to put every series under the TV Show library on the top level including the category TV Shows and Movies which kind of causes a redundancy issue having the TV Shows accessible from two locations. One of which is on a higher branch of the hierarchy than the other:

(TV Menu) Videos / Music / Images --> TV Shows / Movies / Series 1 / Series 2 / Series 3 / Series 4
....................................................|
....................................................|- Series 1 / Series 2 / Series 3 / Series 4

It would "hopefully" create a more precise way to organize media under the Hierarchy, and could potentially eliminate the need for the presentation tab altogether. However, I'm no programmer and I'm not sure if this is even possible. Something else to consider would be creating a config file with a set of rules for each type of media presented. For example instead of just having the category videos you could split that into TV Shows, Movies, Home Movies and then apply a config file to that specific category of media, and then under library you could simply include additional check boxes or a drop down that would allow the user to specify TV Shows, Movies, Home Movies.

Anyway I do apologize if this came off in the wrong way. This program is amazing and I'm just trying to think of things that could make it even better.

Respectfully,
Aaron
