Media Player/Serviio Console

I have one Windows 7 PC on the network and it has Windows 7 media streaming (AKA: Windows Media Player) turned "off".

My Samsung TV does not display this PC as a DLNA server, since I have Windows 7 media streaming turned "off" (which is what I want)

The issue is this: Why does this Windows 7 PC show up in my Serviio Console, after I have turned Windows 7 media streaming "off". You can restart the Serviio server,etc... but Windows7 media streaming still shows up under the Serviio Console.

Is there any way to get rid of this in Serviio Console (without having to physically disable the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" on the Windows 7 PC?

I don't want devices just showing up in my Serviio Console, unless I choose to have them there.

What can I do to resolve this Microcrap software that is showing up in my Serviio Console?

Re: Media Player/Serviio Console

you turned of the media SERVER only as WMP in its own right is a media RENDERER as well so thats why it shows as a device.

Re: Media Player/Serviio Console

How do you disable/turn off rendering without disabling the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service"?

I need the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" for file sharing. If you disable the "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service", you disable file sharing in Windows 7. I DON'T WANT a rendering device profile representing Windows Media Player in my Serviio Console.

I only want my Samsung TV showing up as a renderer on my network.

If I cannot disable it within the Windows 7 Media Player, where can I configure it on the Serviio Console?

A checkbox that says: "Do not show Windows Media Player as a renderer"

Currently, all I see are IP addresses in the Serviio Console and I have to go around figuring out what renderers are showing up (per IP address) on my network. A column showing what device or hostname is showing up in the list would be great, OTHERWISE GET RID OF THEM AND DON'T DISPLAY THEM.

Here's another one that shows up as a renderer in Serviio Console: "Vuze".

I only play media on HDTV devices. I don't play media on computers and peripherals.

you cant turn off the WMP renderer part of windows 7, as for vuze you need to go ask ask them on their forum how to disable the renderer part of their software.
