Homestream on 40HX853
Hi all,
One of the features of the Sony KDL40HX853 is it's ability to display streamed video, sound and pictures as advertised.
However life's not that simple and the generic DLNA setup seems woefully inadequate.
Recently I discovered Homestream and thought all my troubles were over but then discovered it too is as unreliable as the generic DLNA from media player.
I get homestream to run from my PC on Win XP but the next day I boot up PC and TV it won't connect although my laptop running Win7 connects ok.
Although I can refresh Homestream in the console and it shows the TV active the TV won't connect.
The wireless LAN hub is BThomehub3 and this allocates the same IP addresses when devices re connect.
I put a thread similar to this on Sony's relevant forum but the only answer was try hardwiring the ethernet, which I'm not doing as TV can play Iplayer ok via wifi.
Does anyone here know what I can check or change to make Homestream work reliably as my current opinion is it's just garbage? Or would a change to Serviio install be the answer?
