Windows 8 issues

Hi

I have been using serviio for a while and have had no issue streaming through PS3, andriod or Windows 7. I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 8 which wont stream from my serviio server it keeps trying to download the file. I assume its something in my settings but can't fix it. Has anyone got any ideas how I can solve this.

are you using Win8 as the renderer device? What software?

I access the serviio server on the local network using windows explorer and then VLC as the media player

I have never used it like that. You can try to browse the files in VLC (see wiki on how to do it).
