Serviio 1.8b installation window 7

Hi
I am currently using Serviio 1.7.1 running under Windows 7 and using Sony equipment. Up to now whenever I have upgraded I followed the instructions listed here (http://www.serviio.org/component/conten ... e?id=21#q8).
I have many files and I was wondering if Serviio 1.9 behaves differently after reading this statement under Version 1.8 released : "As usual, the upgrade will rescan your entire library, so expect some higher CPU usage while it's happening."
Due to the new features added to 1.8 do I need to uninstall the previous release before upgrading ?
Thanks and regards,
Mony

No, am uninstall is not required. As the release notes state, Serviio will do a complete rescan of your libraries and rebuild the database. It can be time consuming if your file count is particularly large. For my main server with about 3500 video files, I believe it was completed overnight. I never noticed any issues with accessing my media after install.
