Not identifying videos correctly

Very strange occurrence. Serviio is identifying the same files differently in the main browser window and a Playlist window. Remember that these are the same files, in the same location. I have all 7 Star Wars videos, all ripped as M2TS files and stored in the same location. In MediaBrowser under the Title/S presentation, they are not listed accurately. Episode 3 is listed twice, episode 5 & 6 are missing (although I'm sure the duplicate 3 is one of them).

But in the Playlist, all 7 titles are labeled accurately.

Remembering that episode 5 will be filed under "E" and episode 6 under "R" they won't appear in your first screen shot.

Does a forced refresh fix the issue with Episode 3 appearing twice. Also check that you haven't inadvertently created another copy somewhere in your folder structure - accidental drag and drop.

Your Playlist will be correct as the playlist has a pointer to each media file (so if a file does exist twice, your playlist still only points to one copy of it).

Actually, no, they don't appear under E or R. Since every title start with "Star Wars", they should all be within the S listing. It is doing this on both my main and test server, although they are both currently running the same version of Serviio (1.8). The main server is even more confused than the test server.

One nice thing about running Plex on the same computer is that I can compare files, and Plex shows if I have multiple copies of the same file in different locations. Nope, one copy of each. And Plex identifies them all correctly. Kind of hard to accidentally drag and drop a file that's almost 40 Gig!

Forced refresh has no effect.

Check that the "Use Original Title" switch in Serviio Console, Metadata is the same on all servers. I played with it but it didn't make a difference (although it may take some time to rescan my library).

Not on my system. Assuming you are not using your own metadata (ie. you're not using .nfo files or similar and haven't modified the movie titles), the metadata Titles from themoviedb.com are listed as:

• Star Wars
• The Empire Strikes Back
• Return of the Jedi
• Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace ...etc

It is only episodes 1 to 3 and 7 that are prefixed with "Star Wars:" (unlike IMDB which I believe uses prefixes on all of them). This is also evident in your playlists (which will likely use the same metadata from themoviedb.com, and have these listed as "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" not "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" and "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi").

On my setup they appear as:

I'm at a loss as to why they wouldn't appear under "E" and "R" in your "Movies" list - their titles are being enumerated correctly (as they are in themoviedb) as evident in your playlist, which is showing their titles as starting with an "E" (ignoring the word "The") and "R".

Also - did you rescan metadata and force refresh the other servers... maybe themoviedb has changed recently.

Yep, both servers have Use Original Title unchecked. And yes, I am using online metadata from themoviedb.com. Star Wars Episode IV is the only one that doesn't include the entire title in mediabrowser. All Star Wars titles are listed in the S folder under Titles.

My files were named (using FileBot) via themovieDB, and it is putting the complete title as the file name. However, I just ran it through FileBot again, and now it's dropping the Star Wars Episode # from the file name. Must have made a change since I ripped the files back in Aug 2014. That explains the difference between your files and mine. Probably explains why they are displayed incorrectly for me, now that I know themovieDB has changed their format. Personally, I prefer them all under S, but that's what Playlists are for, right?

And I hadn't noticed my Playlist dropped the episodes for V and VI. Sometimes you can't see something when you're looking right at it!

HA! I just looked at MediaBrowser again on both servers. Yep, they are there under E and R. I swear they weren't there two days ago! Still doesn't explain the duplicate listings under S, but I'll take what I can get...

I'd say they are some other files completly. Look at their durations - most match the durations of the files in your Playlist, bu the 2 are not present in the playlist (57:xx minutes - weird, right? Probably an episode of something, or a forgotten .vob file)

On the main server, I did find a couple of duplicates. That cleaned it up. On both servers I renamed the 3 episodes to match what themovieDB now assigns to them. No display issues on the main server. On the test server, it still shows two versions of Episode III. One is as you noted only showing 57 minutes in length. When I play it, it plays. But I can't find the silly file on the computer. It must be there somewhere

I've even checked the Folder view, and the 2nd video isn't shown anywhere. Can't figure out where it is!

Try moving the file out of the library (and refresh to see it removes one, or hopefully both, versions). If the smaller version is still there and plays its means you definitely have another version somewhere. After testing move the file back and refresh again. Could just be a slight hiccup in the library database.

I replaced the motherboard and I had to redo my Windows installation clean, so a clean install of Serviio as well. The dupe file is still listed. For the life of me I can't find the shortened version. Ah well, not that critical. Now if I can just figure out why transcoding DTS-MA in an m2ts container to ac3 is causing my Roku TV to reboot.
