Provide device info

Hi,

I want to provide the output of uPnP spy to zip, but he says to contact him in the HOWTO thread, but he has PM disabled.

How do I send him this

Re: Provide device info

I could PM him, but perhaps his PM is configured to require more than one post before accepting a message. I've seen that on other forums as a method to slow down spam. We seem to get hit with it here in waves, nothing steady.

If he doesn't respond I'll let you know.

Thanks. I'm very new here and have no clue if what I'm asking is completely over-the-top for some rando member :) I think it could be very useful though because both Hisense and VIDAA o/s don't rly have any nice profiles in Serviio yet.

Re: Provide device info

There is one other way to reach the developer, and that's via Bitbucket. That is where he tracks bugs and updates. You can find Serviio there at https://bitbucket.org/xnejp03/serviio/issues

I'm quite nerdy and don't mind effort, is there some manual on how to translate the output of uPnP spy to a profile for myself?

Re: Provide device info

I never did figure out what all the device spy stuff means. I simply took an existing profile and began experimenting with it until I had a functional profile. The main Serviio web site has some pretty good explanations about the contents of the transcoding sections of the profile. And you can generally find some good help here from others that have worked on different profiles.
