Choppy HD stream

Hello all.

I am using this plugin : viewtopic.php?f=20&t=4762 to view online NHL games.

After hours of trying to get it to work, it finally does, and I am able to watch the streams from my xbox connected to my tv.

However, the video is very choppy. I have a somewhat good computer (core i7 2700k, 16gb of ram), so I'm not sure if this is the problem. The audio also sounds weird, a bit canned.

When playing directly from VLC (no transcoding), the playback is flawless at 4500kbps. I would like to get the same quality when streaming with Serviio. Are there any tweaking I could do to boost the performance and quality of the streams with Serviio?

The XBox needs wmv video codec to transcode to, and FFmpeg only has a single core encoder for it. So you might struggle even on the i7 to produce flawless playback, I assume.

You could enable detailed logging, find the FFmpeg command used to transcode the file (when you press play) and run it manually from command prompt (wrap the URL in quotes). Then check how many fps it achieves.
