Did you try entering the PVR drive in the local library using the add path button. You will need to enter it as your boys did, using the IP address of your device eg. //192.168.1.100/drive/path. Not sure if this will work as there still may be a security/access issue - maybe one of the Linux users on the forum could help with that.
