Library won't load files, Linux Mint Network Server

I've recently switched my OS to Linux Mint (14 Cinnamon) and while I'm a relative newbie at Linux I have been using Serviio successfully on Windows and Mac for a while now. I was able to get Serviio running and communicating with local folders the via the Library/Shared Folders but where I'm getting stuck is getting it to read files on my external network device.

I have a Western Digital 3TB My Book Live media server that is connected to my network via an ethernet cable that runs to the router therefore making it accessible via the "Network Servers" (and not under "Devices" where USB drives mount).

When I try to add a folder from this connection the path in Library/Shared Folders looks like this: "smb://mybooklive/public/Shared%20Videos" (I've also tried "smb://mybooklive/public/Shared Videos").

The folders that do work have paths that start with "/media/..." or "/home/..."

Any insight on how I can get Serviio to see the files on the external would be most appreciated seeing as it's where I store the vast bulk of my digital media (music & videos) - thanks!

is there and error in the log if you use the smb:// form?

Otherwise you could also mount the drive to /mnt and use that

Re: Library won't load files, Linux Mint Network Server

Thanks so much for your response, it was exactly the clue I needed!

When I used the smb path Serviio didn't seem do anything, no error, but also didn't load the files. By mounting the drive (via the Terminal) and having the drive's files in /mnt it worked like a charm.

Thanks again! :D
