which version of java?

Which version of Java is needed for Serviio? Version 6 / 7, 32bit / 64bit?
Version 6 is not supported anymore I understand, is it safe to use? Java is a massive security hazard.
I have Win 7 64bit and IE10 64bit.

You can use the latest 64-bit Java 7.

Most of Java's security flaws are related to the browser plugins, so you can happily install Java and then disable the plugin in IE's settings if you are concerned.
