Remote access help needed

First off, I wanna give thanks to an awesome piece of software.

I built a headless server running WHS 2011, I've had Serviio Pro running on this little over a year now, and it is rock solid, have no issues accept for streaming content remotely...

The remote access is set up correctly, I can access my content via media browser and serviigo, I can even stream it at a decent quality due to my 2 Mbps up bandwidth, but the kicker is after about 5 to 10 minutes of flawless streaming... It just stops... Serviio is still running, ffmpeg is still transcoding... It just stops streaming, it stops passing data, network utilization drops to zero... During this time, I can still access and stream content locally, everything works as it should except for remote streaming...

I have no other network issues with the server, I can access whs 2011 remotely, I have xbmc clients that stream the same content flawlessly...

This is an always on box with no power savings or sleep utilities active...

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Re: Remote access help needed

Do you forward port 23424 in your router or use UPNP to have Serviio do it automatically? If the latter, check that the automatic port forward is not dropping out (you may want to test by putting in a manual, permanent forward of TCP port 23424).

Also do a detailed log and see if that sheds any light on what is happening.

Re: Remote access help needed

Yes, I forward my ports manually.

I turned on debugging, did a fresh restart of the system, and accessed serviio remotely with serviigo, streamed content till it dropped out. I opened up the log and was reviewing it, nothing really popped out at me, except at the end.

2013-07-29 16:28:11,168 DEBUG [WebServer] I/O error: Connection reset

Could this be the culprit... does this shed any light on where to go next?

Thank you again!

Re: Remote access help needed

Does this happen also if you chose the lowest quality for remote streaming?

Re: Remote access help needed

That instance was using the lowest quality...

*EDIT* A side note, even when using lowest quality, my phone peaks up to 1.5 Mbps....

I just verified, that is correct, this happens both with servigo and MB...

Re: Remote access help needed

DO you have any firewall or similar? Not sure if something might be cutting any unknown connection after a while.
