Help desperatley needed with viewing Online Sources!

Hi Guys

I am brand new to Serviio and i am having difficulty using online source.

I had no problem viewing my movies via my PS3 :) but after 4 hours of reading this forum and experimenting I cant figue out how to view online source(s) on my ps3. :( I enter the source URL in the serviio library but everytime i press "Online" on my PS3 it says "There are no titles".

Am i missing somthing obvious, do I have to download something extra. A plug in? if so how and where from? Also what is a groovy? :?:

I feel like my head is going to explode. My ultimate aim is to stream a live (football match) site (via wiziwig) to my ps3.

Can someone please give me an idiots (me) guide to viewing online source?

Yours humbley

Two aspects to your post - firstly getting online resources working generally - its pretty much available here: http://www.serviio.org/component/content/article?id=42. This also contains a link explaining what a groovy is.

To walk you through one as an example (YouTube Top 20 is a simple one that almost always works):
  1. Download the latest YouTube groovy plugin from here
  2. Copy the groovy file to your Servio\Plugins folder. This location varies depending on your OS - for Windows 7 32 bit it is C:\Program Files\Serviio\plugins
  3. In Serviio Console: Go to the Library, Online Sources tab
  4. Add a new Online RSS/Atom Feed. Enter http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/standardfeeds/top_rated as the source URL and give it a Display Name (eg. YouTube Top Rated) and select the media type (in this case Video).
  5. Press Add and the Save
Give Serviio a minute or two to find the resources and then try it on your PS3 (if you can't see anything you may have to restart the Serviio services/your PC).

The second part of your post is more specific, related to wiziwig. I haven't tried this, but from what I read this wiziwig service doesn't appear to produce an appropriate http stream. You need to use something like VLC player or ACE stream as an intermediary to create a stream capable of being streamed to DNLA clients. Have a read of this thread: http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7589&p=64292&hilit=wiziwig#p64292. Good luck.

Try reading the documentation http://www.serviio.org/support and then the wiki with articles on plugins and online sources.

Re: Help desperatley needed with viewing Online Sources!

I sure hate bringing up an old thread but Tommy and I are trying to do the same thing. Play sports from wiziwig on the tv from our PS3. It seems we are both having the same problem. I get the streams to verify on serviio but on the PS3 it says no files. Except sopcast streams those work, at least for me. I've read all the links provided here already and nothing seems to be working.
Any ideas why any of the streams I play through ace stream or on VLC don't show up on the PS3 but the sopcast streams work just fine?
