Serviio will not download and install java 6

I had Serviio working perfectly on my System.

The I updated to Java 7 and got the "no JVM could be found on your computer"message.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Serviio but that didn't work
So I uninstalled Java 7 and downloaded Java 6u43 but that didn't work either.

SO I completed removed Java from my machine and figured I just reinstall Serviio and then do the Java 6 install right from the Serviio setup.

However Java 6 download NO LONGER works with the Serviio installer (probably because Java is at 7 now, not 6), and doesn't offer itself as the current download.

I am back to MS media player which I hate but have alternative.

Please help if you can.

It does work with Java 7. Try cleaning your machine from all Java and install the latest one.

Re: Serviio will not download and install java 6

Hi, just to note that i had/have a similar problem. I upgraded to Java7 and got the 'no JRE' error message. I completely cleared out the whole Java installation (I use Revo Uninstaller which hunts down even the stray registry entries) and re-installed Java7 from scratch, but still got the missing JRE error. I uninstalled and re-installed Serviio, and it said it found and downloaded Java6, and it appears now to be working. However, on checking the Java version, I'm informed I'm actually running Java7?!

Try using JavaRa (free download, Google it) which updates, removes, and cleans up Java installs and extensions. I'm using Windows Ultimate SP1 x64, but I doubt that's relevant.
