Modifying an Existing Profile

Does anyone know where I can find detailed information on modifying existing profiles in order to include additional file formats , containers ,etc ? I have tried a little bit of modification and usually serviio won't start after the modification. Evidently I am missing something.

If Serviio fails to start after you have modified your profiles.xml file it is generally because you have the syntax wrong. I recommend Notepad ++ for editing the file as it will do a lot of highlighting to make syntax checking a bit easier.
