update to server 1.4 won't start

I'm running Win7. After the update to 1.4 the service won't start. Doesn't show up in the services console either. Downloaded again & re-installed but no help. So I finally went to command prompt

Got the error code 1060 which means "The specified service does not exist as an installed service." Not sure where to go from here.

solved the problem by doing a uninstall and reinstall
