Not sure how best to explain this but i will do my best.

I have serviio running on a stand alone PC, used purely for running the server. It connects to my network router via a 300mbps wireless dongle.

All my movies are stored on a 2tb NAS drive (serviio is pointed to this location via the console), this is connected to the router via ethernet.

Lastly, my smart tv is connected to the router via ethernet.

Previousy, the serviio server pc was connected to the network via ethernet, and never had any problems

Now i am forced to use that via wireless, will i notice an increase in buffering etc when playing movies?

Does the movie get played from NAS to TV or NAS to Serviio Server PC to TV?

It goes from the NAS to the server, then the TV. If your wireless connection is really strong, you most likely won't have any buffering issues. Even most HD rips only have a stream of about 20Mbs or so, although I have a few really high bitrate videos.

Remember too, your wireless may be 300Mbps, but unless your wired network is gigabit, you'll never tax the WiFi. A typical 100BaseT network will see about 75-80Mbps transfer speeds. I have a wired gigabit network, and my server will sometimes exceed 100Mbps when streaming to multiple TVs. If you are only feeding a single TV, it should be fine, especially if your videos are all SD.

All my movies are HD or BluRay rips 1080p, about 1.5-3gb in size, varying from MKV, AVI and MP4

And am only serving 1 TV (although my phone and tablet would access at other times)
