my sony bdv-n790w and sony internet tv these two devices won't play mp4 or mvk ?? the 790 found its own profile . and the internet tv i set @ 2012 sony brava . they play avi's fine.

Wow you ubuntu footer is big ! That might be a bit over the top, check the rules on sizes but you might need to limit.

Are you really running Ubuntu 8.10 on your server from 2008 ?

Hi. total noob here. I have a vaguely related question:
I was looking at the development timeline for the Sony BD players, and I'm not sure which formats are indeed sported or not. I have a BDP-S390 (DLNA-enabled).
I installed Serviio a week ago & my Sony BDP-S390 was playing ripped movie MP4's from my W7 machine just fine. Yesterday, for no apparent reason, it started displaying the file extensions as MPEGs and it can't read them anymore. The TV shows, however, are not affected.

I didn't do any firmware update. My other BD player (LG) still loads the mp4's. Any ideas what could have caused the change in the way the files are read from the Serviio server? Should I convert the MP4 files to avi? You guys are obviously experts, could you recommend the best format for this player?
