Disable unused categories

i would like to reduce clutter (and overhead) by removing unused categories from the display. however, when i select a category and choose "Disable" under "Presentation," the icons still appear, and worse, they are populated with data. for instance, i have "disabled" "Random Music" but the icon still appears, and when i choose it, it is populated with random tracks from the ~40,000 available files.

in other words, this feature doesn't seem to work, unless i am overlooking something. does anyone have a pointer or an idea?

Re: Disable unused categories

The MediaBrowser in 1.4 ignores presentation settings so you cannot hide categories using the presentation settings on the serviio console. As for overhead, having extra categories enabled won't make any difference, for example the random tracks won't be selected until you actually load the random music category, just as the list of artists won't be generated until you browse to artists.

Re: Disable unused categories

You could edit the contentDirectoryDef.xml found in serviio.jar\org\serviio\upnp\service\contentdirectory\definition\contentDirectoryDef.xml
so your most used categories appear first in MediaBrowser and ServiiGo
