Serviio doesn't work with latest Java in Mac

I've tried with clean install and old installations: Serviio doesn't start at all if you have JDK 8 installed, as it seems that the provided JavaApplicationStub fails to run.

I'm having same problem...since updating to version 8 of Java on my Mac, the refresh no longer picks up any new or updated files. Anyone have any ideas what may be happening, or where I can start to look to try debugging the issue
